Walk-and-talk therapy takes our conversations outdoors, along the canal and through green spaces in Leidschenveen. It offers time to reflect, explore difficult feelings and talk about what matters to you while moving at a comfortable pace.
What we can explore
You can bring the same concerns you would to an indoor session, including:
-
Anxiety, stress and feeling overwhelmed
-
Self-doubt and self-criticism
-
Relationship difficulties and boundaries
-
Grief, loss and life changes
-
Loneliness, identity and belonging
You don’t need to be particularly fit or walk continuously. We can slow down, pause or sit when needed.
What a session looks like
Before our first walk, we will discuss what brings you to counselling, your comfort with being outdoors and any accessibility needs.
During the session, I listen, ask questions and share observations, just as I would in my counselling room. There is space for conversation, silence and reflection.
We will agree on a meeting point and a suitable route. We will also discuss weather arrangements and what to do if either of us meets someone we know.
Privacy outdoors
Public spaces offer less privacy than a counselling room. We will talk about this beforehand and choose quieter routes where possible. If others come within hearing distance, we can pause our conversation.
