Think of therapy not only as a way to heal difficulties but also as an opportunity for self-discovery and building a more fulfilling life.

Why invest in therapy when I can talk to a friend?

Talking to a supportive friend is valuable, but therapy offers something different. As a counsellor, I'm trained to listen without judgment, notice what’s behind your words, and gently challenge patterns that may hold you back. Friends may have their own opinions or advice, but therapy is focused entirely on you and what you need. Sessions provide a safe, confidential space where you can share anything without worrying about the impact on your relationships. Investing in therapy is an investment in yourself, your well-being, clarity, and growth.

What if I feel worse after starting therapy?

It's not uncommon to feel worse before you feel better when we start talking about painful or hidden feelings. This is a natural part of the healing process. We'll move at your pace, and you'll always be in control of what you share. With support and care, those difficult emotions usually become easier to understand and manage.

What can I expect in our first session?

In our first session, we'll have the opportunity to get to know each other. You can share what brings you to counselling, and I'll explain how I work. Together, we'll decide if my approach feels right for you. There's no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel like a good fit.

How long will my counselling take?

Each session lasts 60 minutes. The number of sessions varies; some people benefit from short-term support (6–8 sessions), while others choose longer-term work. We'll review regularly to see what suits your needs best.

Do you work with insurance?

I don’t bill insurers directly. However, some clients can receive partial reimbursement through supplementary insurance (often under Alternative/psycho-social care).
Please check your policy to confirm eligibility. I can provide an invoice for reimbursement purposes.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is treated with strict confidentiality, according to professional and ethical guidelines (NIP / BPS). Exceptions apply only if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.

Are online counselling/therapy sessions effective?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Research shows that online counselling can be just as effective as in-person sessions for most issues. Many of my clients appreciate the comfort and flexibility of connecting from their own space. I use secure video platforms to ensure confidentiality, and the focus and connection we create online is often just as strong as when we meet in person.
