Sharing My Passion for Communication and Empathy

Recently, I was honoured to be invited to give a talk to fellow parents at our school — an experience that was both exciting and deeply meaningful.

The topic was one of my lifelong passions: communication. Language can be the most powerful tool of love, understanding, and connection — and yet, sometimes (intentionally or not) it can also become a source of tension or misunderstanding.

In this session, called “Empowering Communication: Speaking with Empathy for Connection,” we explored how the way we speak and listen can transform our relationships — not only with our children, but also with our partners, colleagues, and even with ourselves.

We discussed how to communicate in a way that deepens understanding and builds trust, especially in moments of emotional overwhelm. These skills help us find calm, clarity, and compassion when it matters most.

I’ll be honest — I was quite nervous before the talk. I could hardly sleep the night before and even dreamt about delivering it! My nerves grew stronger when I learned that one of the parents, Noa, teaches counselling and coaching and was looking forward to hearing how a colleague would approach the subject.

But once the morning began, all the anxiety melted away. The group was warm, engaged, and wonderfully curious. We shared reflections, laughter, and a real sense of connection.

The most heart-warming surprise came afterward — Noa mentioned the workshop in her podcast (https://open.spotify.com/episode/3N53Wttz5rRLE8z6nVbfO5?si=wkYBL3e5T7KjlBrS6pCgCQ), sharing her impressions and some very kind words. She also invited me to record an episode together soon, which I’m really looking forward to. 🎙️

If this topic resonates with you, I’m planning to offer the workshop online — in English and Russian — so that everyone interested can join, no matter where they are. 🌍💻Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to be notified about the next date or future events.
